I love accessories. LOVE them. In menswear terms they can be referred to as Furnishings. By any name, I love the little things that complete an overall look. Especially those that aren't really necessary, but just vessels of pure creativity and style. Pretty soon here i'm going to post some of my favorites. And by accessories I mean everything from gloves to bracelets to umbrellas to scarves...so i'll probably break them up into sections over the next couple days or weeks...just giving you all a little something to look forward to....

Ok guys i'm back...I am so excited to give this another go! Today what we have are some shots of music artist Kid Cudi in some rather dapper threads! I love the styling by stylist Sharon Ryan...and all of Kid Cudi's pictures are DOPE! Cameras and clothes love him...he should definitely model more!. His overall style is decent...better than most,but the styling in this editorial was spot on in my eyes... I love it!

GQ really delivered! I am pleased. LOL.

No need to state the obvious. I have not blogged in over half a year. That brings the grand total of posts for 2010 to a staggering 2 posts. I know awful,but I haven't given up. Perish the thought! Instead...I've revamped. I changed the name which was too much to spell correctly and just overall too lengthy... I also think the new name reflects the essence of what this blog is about.

You may ask what is "a gallant". Some of us are familiar with the adjective which is a synonym for brave, courageous, and the like. But the noun is what this here blog is all about. Note the following definition via Merriam-Webster...

¹gal·lant : noun \gə-ˈlant, gə-ˈlänt, ˈga-lənt

1: a young man of fashion

...so by definition...that is what i am...thus...the name of the blog...

Been a long time...shouldn't have left you....
But seriously folks...been a FEW months...my bad my beloved blog. I do love you...i promise!
Now that that's out of the way on to the post...

So i'm on one of my fave online shopping haunts...and i come across these selections from Jil Sander that just TOTALLY rub me the right way!! It's some fresh looks yet so classic and unassuming...very clean...i'm thoroughly enjoying these looks...a nod to edgy japanese color blocking notions with impeccable tailoring...i am just loving the concepts and color! Take a peek...

Now. Coming Soon is making me smile! Loving the simplicity and sort of pop influence of these nice little tees. Enjoying it!

Last,but not least... the selections they had from Band of Outsiders were a little bit of sheer wonder! Sleek V-Necks in various colors...Wonderfully made blazers...a nice version of a kinda patchy looking plaid. 4 stars at the LEAST. I love it!

This a complete outfit I would pick. The pants are great and the blazer...is there anything to say? It's perfection...

I love this plaid. It's a statement, but not an obnoxious one. I wouldn't wear it all together though...lol. I'd love to see the plaid pants...with the black V-neck above(keep the boy tie),a yellow hued shirt underneath that(vibrant or pale...just as long as it's definitely more yellow and less High School gold...ya dig?)...and some nice loafers or broques...in black or gray...most likely black! Sorry...i 'd have to see it on....but i think that would deliver!

This was good for me. I know my pupils are probably dilated and my heart is light. I am happy to have posted and shared with you these nice little pieces!

A Sad Day for Fashion....

I hate for such a tragic event to bring me back to the blog...but a great artist and fashion icon Alexander McQueen was found dead earlier today. The man was nothing short of a genius and will be sorely missed! He dressed many celebrities and never compromised his vision. I am saddened,dismayed, gobsmacked, and utterly sick over the news, but I will celebrate the good of this wonderful designer with a fresh and innovative eye...and do so gladly!

So i've HAD to wear glasses since I was like 10...been wearing contacts for quite sometime getting my grown man on...but i still love a good pair of specs and will rock a chic lil pair as eagerly as a pair of uber-look retro frames....i think it's great that the world is catching up to my hotness...Now everybody wants to be a nerd! Ha!

THE ADVICE from Details:

1. To pull off Clark Kents, it helps to have Superman bone structure. (Tiny eyes and high cheekbones tend to get lost behind heavier glasses.) The stronger the features the better, but even if you don't have a chiseled jaw, these frames bring plus-size noses and expansive foreheads into proportion.

2. They used to come exclusively in black, precluding anyone without dark hair from wearing them. Today's blonde and brown frames allow guys with fairer complexions to bulk up too.

The Prada studded broques again...I'm in love with these! I actually like ALL of the studded men's shoes they made. Edgy and Fresh...enjoying Prada immensely right now.

Ok so I love the Rachel Zoe Project...and i also love Taylor and Brad. I think she couldn't have picked better "associates" based on personal style...love their style. BUT...Brad...sir...these shorts.

No sir. I think once you go to short with a short it immediately goes to underwear/swimwear territory and that taints the seriousness of the style for me. I think a "dress short" is doable and could be kinda hot. But there is a line...and it's located about low-to-mid thigh...don't go beyond it. STILL love Brad Goreski's sense of style...he's a real whiz kid...

Now is it just me or does Brad's general look remind you of the V Magazine shoot Rachel styled in 2007...they featured it on the finale....

I love those Tom Ford Cary frames...the sickness...these are they in their original form..sunglasses...i like em either way and just might cop them jointsssssss....

Robin Thicke has a VERY nice suit on in this Rick Ross "Lay Back" video. Never been a fan of Rick Ross per se....but always liked Robin Thicke. Anybody remember the video from back in the day when he was on that bicycle. Dude is cool. And i can appreciate his fashion game most days..

Ok and i gotta give props to Melody Thornton of the Pussycat Dolls...she was bold enough to take it there with the black lip coloring...which i find to be quite hot, but folks usually shy from it or make it goth...tres chic Melody..

Ok sooo of course i've been perusing through the myriads of coverage new and not so new and I decided to highlight some suits i'm feeling. I'm not really a suit and tie kinda guy perse...but the institution is growing on me.....

This is one by Tom Ford that Details magazine highlighted in their most rececent issue...i know i know, again with a pattern, this one is specifically know as "prince of wales check"...I like the suit though, not too loud...definitely not drab despite the nuetral gray....i'm feeling it!

M-O-S-C-H-I-N-O....Me likey...even the purple for some reason....lol

I just might want a brooch...or whatever that is after seeing this tan number...

Sorry for the neglect! I just realized people actually read this sometimes LOL. Well I promise one of these days im gonna be so sick on this thing that there will be several posts a day....but until then...accept my apologies...allong with DIGEST posts like this one!!! Stuff has been ROCKIN' my world lately and I gotta SHAREEEE....

First Up...KANYE...we hate him, we love him....he's egomaniacal and maybe a lil crazy....but WE LOVE IT. Or at least I do...His fashion game...has evolved. I mean he's always been clean, neat, and fashionable. But I'm feeling his choices SO MUCH more now. It's so polished and refined! Example:

DOPE! I'm feelin it. Not too mention his sneaks he designed for Louis Vuitton (he's honing his design chops under THE Marc Jacobs, creative director for LV) ALSO...i'm secretly biting my nails over this video for the collabo with him, Jay-Z, and Rihanna..."We Run The Town"...I've seen some shots from the set and I checked Rihanna killin the Moulin-Rouge/Dominatrix look wit SICK A NING Christian Louboutins on with her beautiful self...Kanye is lookin pretty avant-garde in the pics...I think it's gone be hot...

Now I'm feeling the laid back look on Kanye...but Amber Rose is wrong for them booty shorts or skir...i thought they were broken up....WOMP...her shoes are tight tho

I really have a love/hate relationships with bold patterns. I love patterns,but I don't want to abuse them. Ever. However there are some patterns tha have got me going foreal!! First of all THIS BLAZER KILLED at BET AWARDS...

Wylef gets sooo may points for this textured blazer...i don't know who it is....so if you know SPILL!

But that pattern is pretty tame compared to these beauts! I am SOOOO on this Billionaire Boys Hunting Pattern Collection!!!

Soooo...I can't completely cover fashion week...at least not while i'm as busy as I am now. I mean school AND work...it's crazy right now. so here's the first batch of a few of my favorites....

First Up... Spurr...looks like they opted out of a huge runway show...like quite a few other designers

Next we have Shipley & Halmos....one of GQ's picks mentioned earlier in the blog...not feeling one button ANYTHINGS right now...but the heat on some of these is making me not notice that dumb "one-button" thing....I do not understand why that is the craze right now!

Lastly...for today....is Dsquared...and they have a nice lil line!! More detailed descriptions laterrrrr.....cause they did a lil too much with the styling...lol...but u ain't seen nothin til u see the Cavalli line lol

There has been a LARGE gap in posts...I haven't give up...I just have a lot of stuff to put up here and am trying to figure the logistics without bombarding the blog with images and also trying to keep stuff from getting to stale. SO...GQ has deemed these fine selections as the best new designers in America....Do I agree? I don't know yet...I gotta say I love Andre Benjamin...but his Benjamin Bixby line is sometimes a little...too something for me. I'm loving whats shown here though. Other faves are Shipley & Halmos and Yigai Azrouel...... All these are nice though...I know this is not at all breaking news, but I thought it was a good way to start off the blog....

Just in case your wondering...This blog is going to basically be a review of what i think is hot or not fashionwise. Most of the time it will be pertaining to what somebody had on. lol. Seeing as I am a man, I'll probably lean more heavily towards menswear lol...I mean theres a million blogs out there that primarily follow women's clothing. Now fashion is fashion and if I spot something I MUST comment on that has to do with female clothing, it's my duty right? RIGHT. Well...alright. BRB...hopefully lol.
